Mischief and Mishap

Jason has definitely started a new stage! He is braver, more stubborn and more independent than ever before. The first picture was taken under one of the benches in the kitchen. The poor boy is so short that it's hard for him to pull up to standing on just anything. He discovered the bar running in between the legs under the bench. It was perfect for pulling up on since he's little taller than a grasshopper=) The story behind the second picture: Jason had been put down for a nap. I kept hearing little, quiet noises on the monitor. It sounded to me like he was pulling stuff off the dresser at the end of the crib. That baffled me, though, because he's not tall enough to do that. Joshua went to check on him and discovered that he'd gotten a hold of the cord to the monitor and pulled the whole thing in with him. It was a good laugh! The monitor has since been moved.

The mishap occurred today. Joshua and Jacob took Jacob's bike to the park this afternoon so Joshua could try jumps with the bike. Joshua missed the last jump and made quite a splat. He is pretty scraped up, making mincemeat of one elbow. His hand is also very sore and three fingers swollen. He is going to the orthopedic doc tomorrow, so we'll have him check that out along with his knees. I am grateful that he is not hurt much worse!
